This is due to the core (like goldeneye) and needs a supercomputer to run perfect!
Use 1964 0.83c (if you have xp) and it absolutely flys (no kiddin)

yes it flys too fast in 1964 :(. also i had perfect dark running perfect with my sis730 shitty integrated graphics chip on 640x480 and some levels on 800x600. so why the hell wont it work with a gf3 ti????????????????????

its part of the pj64 core that makes it emulate slow on games like goldeneye & perfect dark. Looks like it u'll have to use 1964, else u have to run it on your real n64 (works just as good)

limit your question marks, im sick of seeing "???" in every post. Secondly, use frame limiter in 1964 to slow it down.

UGH.. some people just DON'T get IT! IT NEEDS A FAST COMPUTER TO RUN (THAT MEANS CPU, VIDEO CARD, RAM, SOUND CARD, ETC!) and no, you will never be able to run it 5 times at once, just because you have a geforce3. :plain2:

The problem isn't the geforce 3 because Perfect Dark runs PERFECTLY on my computer with the new PJ64.... and I have the wimpy TI200 model. In the PJ64 help file the PJ64 team makes it clear that a fast CPU is the most critical hardware component.

I get a varied 50-60 fps on my p4 1.5GHz, with that said, anything lower than that probably wont be able to run it at too great of speeds.

well? what other thing cud be causing this?

lol you know you could always try maximizing your available physical memory and page file space...
ever think of defragging as well? cause yeah that can improve file access speeds etc etc thus anything being used from the page file will be faster etc get more ram??
another thing might be that you could learn how to spell? hahaha but that won't help speeds, eliminate any programs and processes that are running in the background etc... basically kill off any non essential things...
also check to see if you have any viruses etc cause they can do some nasty things to efficiency and generally if you have caused registry problems on your current installation of windows it could cause you grief but yeah these are things that *most* but not all people would over look because they aren't very obvious, also improper system maintenance will cause you problems

defragging-no need cos ive just formatted
viruses-none
background stuff-none
spelling error-i dont come on here for english lessons, i come on hear for help regarding pj64:)

my system is properly maintained, everything is optimal.
so i dont have a clue what the hell is going on here. this sucks:(

trust me its cpu speed... i have a "lowly" 1.2ghz tbird and i struggle to manage a constant poor frame rate... ocasionally peaking at proper speed in low detail areas... the more thats on screen to emulate the slower it will go. To get the absolute best out of Perfect Dark you need realstically an xp 2000 just for headroom (or at least thats my guess) an even then you probably arent safe from slowdown

How about the fact that your using PJ64!!! Thats what weve been trying to tell you. If you want to run PD on PJ at perfect speed you need to have something like a Pentium 8 12000Mhz CPU (or equivilent for you AMD users). Besides, video cards DO NOT... I repeat... DO NOT make a difference on speed for PJ64. Its your CPU that matters. Only your CPU. The better graphics card merely makes the game look better (and only slightly at that).

We tried to answer this before, but you have to read and pay attention ;)

I still dont think an XP 2000 would be good enough on PJ. Its just too complex and uses too many resources. Like said above you need to use 1964, Perfect Dark was only in its emulation beginning stages when PJ64's production was ended. 1964 has had several months to continue the work.
