This is the only crap i get when i try to load any game any way, and i see people in forums stating that they get this thing to work. I don't understand it first it comes with no instructions at all, and then it's giving me this one problem that's preventing me from playing anything. If anyone on here has a solution or could put down exactly how they did it maybe i can figure something.

you have to change the area code of the emulator you use. i had this problem with Castlevania. but since it was a japanese game all i had to do was change the area code to Japan and the game worked fine.

Plus, the BIOS must match the area you have it set for.;)

That's not actually true. The european bios, at least, works for all regions - as long as you get the area code right ;) .

The console region must be set at the same region that is found in the CD image, otherwise the game boot.

If you read my post, you will find that that is in fact what I said. :p I was commenting on generalplot's statment about needing to change the BIOS as well as the region.

Hm. That totally went by me, and the funny thing is that I even quoted you. :/

Go figure.

Anyway, yeah you're right.

Strangely enough, I wasn't able to boot Clockwork Night European copy with US BIOS and area code set as Europe. Only when setting it to Europe and using the US BIOS, was I able to boot it.

So you got it working the second try without actually changing the bios and the region.

By the way, to my knowledge only the japanese 1.00, japanese 1.01 and ntsc 1.01a bioses are dumped. Every other one is either one of those mislabeled, or fake regions created by "team cassini" by editing insignificant bytes of the real dumps.

Typo on my previous post: Only when setting it to Europe and using the European BIOS was I able to boot it. The US BIOS wouldn't load it.;)

That's quite odd. I've always used the euro bios, since a few years ago, I inquired somewhere (the place escapes me) and was told to get the euro bios, since it works for everything. :)

Hey guys. The euro bios is not dumped. Does not exist online. Infact I'm not even sure if one was ever made and put in a console.

run a byte compare between your usa and eur bios and you'll see: at best you will have 1 byte of difference (at an insignificant point nonethless).

Well, if I load the US BIOS (without a game) and then the European BIOS (also without a game), I get different splash screens on boot up, so I'm pretty certain they're not the same.;)

uhh.

the one on the LEFT is the japanese 1.01 bios. The one on the right is the USA 1.01a bios. There's also a japanese 1.00 bios which sez 1.00 and only (C) 1994 in the title screen.
