Find/Create new Cheat for Banjo Tooie

Banjo Kazooie and its sequel are 2 of my fave games ever. It pains me to see all other n64 games work perfectly fine in 1964 and PJ64..but not these 2 games.

Ive read the Banjo Tooie FAQ and tried the methods described, unfortunately, like stated in the FAQ, those methods are not full-proof for everyone. So here I am..stuck.

The game ran flawlessly, until I reached Isle of Hags (Plateau). The fire egg switch doesn't activate (just like the FAQ said). I cant play this on PJ64 because it crashes constantly. Ive tried transferring my 1964 save to PJ...the program just froze on me.

So Iv come to the conclusion that, seeing as there are so many cheats already available for BT, I should come up with a cheat to have all teleport silos activated. That way I can just teleport to Pine Grove (the area past the fire egg switch)

How are cheats found? Hex editor? Anyone have experience with this? Anyone wanna help me? Thanks.

If you are referring to this board, it seems a bit dead. The link really did not help me and some links in that post are dead/lead to BS search sites.

As for using 1964 8.5, I have a very weird problem. I did everything the Faq says to do. I got the plugins from PJ64, I copied the audio plugin from 1964 9.9, and got the Mupens RSP.

For some crazy reason, when I load Banjo Tooie up, the first screen I see is an Area of Spiral Mountain...not the Rare Logo. The music is there and it continues perfectly, but I press start and nothing happens, the music just starts over when its done.

Other games work perfectly fine, but not the game I actually did all this for..

The only thing I'm not perfectly sure on is the mupens RSP..the Faq isn't totally specific about which one or where I should get it from..I got "mupen64_rsp_hle.dll" from version Mupen64 0.5 (Windows) that I downloaded from this site. I renamed it RSP.dll and put it in the plugins folder of 1964 (8.5). Am I doing something wrong?

I guess getting 1964 (8.5) to work is more feasible then creating the cheat.

EDIT:
Ah, the miracle of the Restart. I re-started Windows..Boom Banjo Tooie on 1964 (8.5) with all those plugins from the FAQ works now. I wasn't able to transfer my 9.9 save file to 8.5 so I don't know if the fire egg switch thing works..but I have my fingers crossed.

I appreciate the gesture 4real, but its working now. I don't know if you read my edit in my previous post, but I got BT working pretty damn nice now. I have played for about 2 and a half hours game time and have had only 1 crash. The fire switch worked perfectly and everything plays smooth. That BT FAQ is really helpful.

I'm using 1964 8.5 with the plugins stated in the FAQ.
Windows XP Pro, AMD Athlon XP 1800+ 1.49 GHz, 640 MB DDR Ram, ATI Radeon 9600 128mb, on board sound, and a really cool wallpaper on my desktop...
