Emulator problems with a slow computer. Please Help!

I am fairly novice at computers. I asked my brother for help but, he was mean and didn't tell much.
I've been trying to find a N64 for emulator that will play most commercial games fully on my system (which is pretty poor). Most emulators will show me graphics fine but, the audio will stutter. such as 1964 or Mupen.Corn will play Super Mario 64 flawlessly but when I play Zelda ther is no sound. Most emulators will have the same promblems Corn and 1964's have.
I run an Atx motherboard with 400mhz.mmx capable,Intel celeron processor. I run only a vidoe card which is Ati 3D Rage pro Turbo. The sound driver runs off the board and is a Sound Max Digital Audio.
I would like an emulator that runs flawlessly. Please help.

I'd say use UltraHLE. That's your only real viable option. That and Corn.

UHLE will play Zelda and lots of other commercial games very well. Your selection will be quite limited, and there is really nothing you can do about it. I find it hard to believe the graphics are "fine" on you Ati Rage Pro with any major graphics plugin, except Glide64. UHLE will work fine, though, graphics wise, and should be at least close to full speed.

You can try using 1964 without sound. That's really the only other option.

Don't we all, lol. :teehee:

Upgrade that machine or live with its limitations.

It is a shame you have an ATI - because the Glide Graphics are really fast for me! But eVoodoo will slow things down a little! I would also say UltraHLE 2064 - But sound will still be dodgy, the new 1964 could rectify things as it looks fast and Schibo is focusing on Audio

It is a shame you have an nVidia - because the Glide Graphics are really fast for VOODOO USERS!

Good effort - It is true my broardband PC has a TNT2 but my OTHER slower PC has a Voodoo3 - God people in this forum are so quick to pounce now, just to look clever - It is not like those helpful old days!!!

Not a shame having nVidia cards (at least you can still download official drivers) but anyway, glide really IS fast, and I run games very well on 1964 with Glide plugin (Mario always goes over 30 fps without sound), and I have a processor almost twice slower than yours. nephalim was right with 1964 w/o sound.

You have a Celeron board, so if you're really for the sound, you oughta get some better Celeron if you can put it onto your motherboard. There are even ones on 1 GHz, pretty cheap also, and get a better video card of course. A card that supports glide or something, or maybe you can find some good GeForce 2 MX (there's a good chance that your motherboad supports it, mine couldn't though :/ )
