I'm looking for a new DVD-RW drive, I know that all can reach 16x speeds,so they look all the same, so what drive brand or model do you recommend guys?

any of the benq 1640/1650/1655 drives are all quality drive. the 1670 should hit the streets pretty soon if it hasnt.

if you really want to put out the cash, plextor is top of the line.

you can probably find some more recommenations over at cdfreaks.com

I usually go for Plextor (people say they are over-priced, etc etc) and have never had any trouble from them. I currently have an HP 740b and it seems to work decently as well.

Plextor. They are a bit more expensive (could mean double price compared to a drive on sale), but IMO worth every penny.

I have a rule of thumb to buy best components to my computer. That means they're not the fastest components, but quality. I don't update my computer that often but i practically never have any trouble with it. Just my opinion.

I would also recommend NEC as well, great price/performance.

My current drive is the same ND-3520A you have, however I think Starforce thing damaged it, so what NEC drive would you recommend?

ND3550 is an updated version of what you already have.

Also, don't install anything with Starforce in it. It is known to mess systems up. You can find lists of Starforce protected games on the web.

I knew that thing too late as you can see, but I am almost sure it was the starforce thing

If the drive is indeed broken, I'd get another NEC drive, I've never had trouble with them. If you're looking to get the best burner, a higher-end plextor would do the trick, but they command a rather high price.
