So, in the first jungle world I have a problem that prevents me from beating the game any further. When I use Diddy and go to the very top of the world where there is that mountain (the one that allows you to enter the cave and then the mine ride) I cannot enter the mountain because every time I try to shoot Diddy's peanut switch, the peanuts just go right through so the switch never gets pushed down. It seems to be a texture problem (depth maybe?) but I can't seem to configure anything to make it work differently. I thought maybe it was the rom so I, um, well it wasn't the one rom's fault let's just put it that way because others have had the same problem. It's weird too, because I got through it one time (a long time ago) but I don't know what's different now. I've tried enabling the legacy pixel pipeline, but that doesn't change anything. Any suggestions? This is really frusturating.

can you attach 2 saves please:

1) a state save made right before this switch
2) your native save (DONKEY KONG 64.eep) and instructions how to get there

Native eep: http://www.filefactory.com/?ea5a97
Save State: http://www.filefactory.com/?472898

In order to get to that spot (assuming you're coming from the main island) is go into the cave to the left of the five teleport pads and enter Jungle Japes. After you enter, use the first teleport pad, and then change into Diddy (if you are not already him) and then use the second teleport pad if it works. I don't remember if I enabled it, so if it doesn't work then climb the huge vine coming out of the water just slightly to your left (left of the number 1 pad) and when you get to the top, swing over the ledge to the right. Jump into the canon and then head left when you've been shot up. Go to the left of the big mound and the peanut switch is right there.

Also, I forgot I enabled cheats. Could this be causing the problem?

Crap. That would make a lot of sense because one of the cheats enabled was for unlimited coins. Coins allow you to get the weapon that shoots at the afforementioned switch, ie, perhaps a certain game "trigger" has not gone off to enable the switch to be pressed because the weapon hadn't been received in a legitimate way. I don't know why I didn't think of that earlier. I will try this theory out by turning off cheats and getting to that spot the good ol' fashioned way and report back...

damn....

Unfortunately this doesn't seem to be the reason as the problem still persists. Hmm...

Is this the problem when you beat a boss no key pops out so you are stuck ? If so please PM me if the problem is fixed.
