Hey,

Wich emulator is ahead in dev. Dolphin or Dolwin ??

I thought dolphin was way ahead on dolwin but when i checked the dolwin site i saw some impressive stuff (luigi's mansion working)

I know that the unreleased version of dolphin runs LM too but dolwin seems to be catching up with the dolphin team!

What do you guys think ?

Looks like both are running commercial games. Perhaps one day they will even share the same plugin system. Dolphin looks to be further developed so far, but Dolwin is definitely catching fast. Both emulators are very promising, about a year ago I would have laughed at someone mentioning GC emulation! Great work by the developers.

IMO Dolphin is ahead of Dolwin, simply because Dolwin doesn't display 3D well, if at all. Although Dolwin has been advancing very nicely of late :)

To be honest its not fair to treat it like the two emulators are in competition with each other, since the teams have helped each other in the past. It's more likely because three heads are better than two that Dolphin is more advanced!!! :D

Well i think the main difference is that we get to know every single step the authors of Dolwin make, thus it seems to be close up to Dolphin, but i guess (or better i hope) the authors of Dolphin made some further progress in the meantime ;-)

Actually, Dolwin is still a bit slow, there is no recompiler, no sound, buggy memory cards. The video is not displaying any "big" 3d yet. There is few games playable ( in fact, none really) some goes pass the title screen but can't play (due to 3d). in my 26 games list, I can say that only 2 or 3 can go far.

On the other side, Dolphin got great compatibility (24 on my 26 games are playable), graphic is really more developped, ok, there is no save at all (same a dolwin) but most games are running faster, (due to recompiler)and so long.

Yeah Dolwin is slowly catching Dolphin, but it's mainly because the dolphin team didn't worked a lot on it, org, him, added some stuff (most opcodes + video fixes) to make games run, and coded more frequently. He won't be here for the next month but I'm sure that when he'll be back, there will be more progress ;)

There, I won't tell A LOT about Dolphin because F|RES don't want ;) but there is still some great stuff added on the emu ;). I can tell that in a certain point that both emus could be just like 1964 and PJ64 are on the N64 side on day.

As far as I know F|RES, ector and schibo are working on Dolphin, and I know I could be wrong but I think Dolwin is running with two. Hotquick and Org. Just my understanding thus far. Ninphin has one I 'think' but again, I may be mistaken. Goes by SculleatR, but some of the Dolphin guys have been helping him out here and there (ector for sure anyway).
