I have problems installling anything with windows installer. I've tried to fix it many times to no avail. Is there any version of PJ64 1.6 that is a different setup file? Like extraction or anything like the older versions? Any help would be appreciated

Not on the offical site, no. I know Windows Installer is crap, so you will have to find an unofficial source.

does it install any files elsewhere besides the program folder you install to? could i have someone else install it on their computer, then just sent me the program folder?

The installer route was chosen to ease uninstallation (no more reg files to clear registry entries).

almost all of the pj64 settings are stored in registry (regarding plugins)

Install on another computer where you have full rights etc., zip up the contents of the folder and transfer it to another PC (via email, or CD/USB Flash drive). Extract and it'll work.

The problem for us PJ64 users is that the licence won't allow us to redistribute it when it's modified, and I'm not sure if it's currently possible to unpack an InstallShield 9 installer.

im gunna try installing to another machine as someone else said, and zipping up the folder contents. if that doesnt work, ill copy over the reg files as well, and edit if i must. thanks for the help guys

I have PJ64 and Project64 and some others in a zipped version without installer and they all work very well so just go ahead and do it, if it doesn`t work i will mail mine to you if you want.
