Grr. I searched for almost a year to find the "Worms Armageddon" rom for the 64 and it's PRETTY BAD. Now most of you are probably thinking "get the pc version or the Dremcast version" but the n64 Worms is the best one EVER. Please someone...I tried it with Glide64, Rice, and Jaboo, but nothing works right. Everything is fine until you actually enter the game. There are so many glitches with the video/cotrols that I don't know what's going on. Rice's has perfect emulation, but the game is so slow when you're playing and has so much slow-down and...PAUSES in the emulation that I am ruling that plugin out from being usable. Jaboo's looks "okay" but when you're controling your worm it looks like he's going left when you're pressing right (this isn't my config...it's a real issue). And don't get me started on Glide64...EWWWW. Please give me some advice...at least to speed the game up with Rice's.

First of all LOL @ it taking you a year to find ;) That's classic.

Anyways, I did 3 tests:

1 with Jabos 1.5.1 looked good wierd backwards animation on the worms

Then with glN64 > totally messed up

Then with Rices 5.2.0 (the version in the 1964 forum entitled Unofficial release) with this it worked not only fast but also looked fine (maybe/maybe not perfect not sure).

In Rices though I used DX, when using OpenGL the same problems you reported were evident, the main one being pausing inexplicably.

If you are using any image enhancements in Rices like 2XSAI then turn them off, with a MX PCI you'll probably run out of memory bandwith quite quickly (causing slowdowns).

First of all, I wasn't using that excuse to try to get help faster. It REALLY took me that long...and second, I get the pausing in DirectX and OpenGL. I never use enhancements, and I still get it. Maybe it's my config, but it's REALLY screwed up. Well, thanks for replying, but I'd REALLY like your help.

I never said it was an excuse to get help faster, I just laughed that it took you that long :)

So you definately using the older version like I said and not the newer one (which I couldn't get working either)?

Yes. I'm using 5.2.0 and it's still EXTREMELY slow when you're "In-game". I have minor GFX errors on the main menu, but it SEEMS to pause still in DirectX mode. Please, can you please paste an image of your config menu?

No idea then, but I did test 'In-game', and it worked fine.

The config menu I used was all default (shaded) except for combiner which I turned off I believe.

Well, Trotterwatch, my friend, I have to keep the new combiner option on or I get BAD/NO video. I can get the game looking 96% accurate, but it runs really slow. I'm only using a 640x480 res and it REALLY doesn't want to play well. I just don't understand why 2-D games are harder to emulate than 3-D games. Oh well. Screw it. It's just that the n64 game cartridge is so rare that it's sold on the net for over $100. Dang. Well, can you at least tell me how to fix the character select screen in Ready 2 Rumble Boxing? Thanks.

Hexidecimal

Emutalk Bounty Hunter.
Interesting, I tested this last night, the only time I got slowdowns was with several explosions of rockets and barrels at once.
