darn. Was this game ever released in America?

Hey, I've been wanting to buy the Dreamcast game Evolution but I've heard that it has never translated or officially released in the U.S....BUT, where I live I remember seeing commercials for it. Am I going crazy? It's just that I love RPGs, but if it's only in Japanese I don't want to waste my money.
