This may sound profoundly stupid and n00bish, but I can't find the C buttons. It could be that the ROM I'm using is bad, (which probably shouldn't surprise me) and as I see it, there are two options:

1) Rig up a spare N64 controller with a USB cable, or
2)Ask a question here.

I obviously chose 2, because 1 would require me to do some cutting and soldering, and soldering isn't my strong suit. So...

Which keys are the C buttons?

You may define which keys the C buttons are, by going to Options --> Configure Controller Plugin, as well as viewing what they are currently set to there. If, for some reason, you have a plugin selected that does not allow this, you can go to Options --> Settings, and under the Input dropdown box select Jabo's Direct Input or N'Rages Direct Input, then try configuring them.

lol. don't even think about "rigging" your n64 controller. they sell adaptors online that you just plug your controller into. OR, you could just buy a Saitek Dual Shock Analog with Rumble support at Wal Mart that works extremely well for Playstation and n64 emulation(shameless plug). I really wouldn't recommend using a keyboard since 95% of GOOD n64 games need analog for an enjoyable experience. Just look around and explore the emulator or read the help file before asking help with things, ok? good luck, and good gaming!

Okay, sorry about that. I figured it out just when my Internet decided to stop working.

If you've never taken a controller apart but know what a USB cable is like, the N64 controller is like a USB cable, but it doesn't have the green wire in it. All you'd have to do is cut off the end of the cord, cut open a USB cable, and solder the red, black and white wires to the ones in the controller cord. Because, let's face it, buying stuff on the net that you can make yourself is for pansies.

I got the idea from the guys who put Linux on the Xbox.[/another shameless plug]

Anybody got a spare USB cable they could send me?
