PCI-E Is directly connected to the cpu as there is no northbridge, err unless your using a C2D....

also, I've found a very weird issue with copy framebuffer to RDRAM option. The higher the resolution I set it, the more FPS I will have!!! (excluding fullscreen).

Any reason for this???

all CPU´s that i know uses the northbridge to connect to a PCI-E card (K8,Conroe (well, real plataform codename),Netburst,etc) at the moment

I can't get anything higher than 42fps with 1.6 and 1.7. Using same C2D here as the poster. However the graphics card is 'only' a GeForce 7950GT.

Athlon64+ has the memory controller on the CPU and doesn't have a northbridge persay... its all handled by the south bridge.

PCIE transactions are handled directly via the CPU via the HyperTransport Controller

I'm using 1.6. I don't know why, but when I up the resolution it gives me a 5-10 FPS boost.

The problem is that I'm using a C2D, not an A64. The mobo that I'm using is the 680i SLI, it doesn't have integrated video, maybe that's why.

I'm beginning to suspect the new GeForce 8800 card has something to do with this. My system is similar to SeymouOmnis's, except for the graphics card it seems.

Unless there's something I don't know of...

The 8800GTX has significantly more memory bandwidth than any previous gen card (mostly due to the 384bit interface), so that is probably having some effect on framebuffer copying speed.
