what CPU have a PCI-E bridge inside?
all CPU´s that i know uses the northbridge to connect to a PCI-E card (K8,Conroe (well, real plataform codename),Netburst,etc) at the moment

Absolutely no effect here. Are you using 1.6 or 1.7 ?try upping the resolution, it boosts my FPS somehow.

Athlon64+ has the memory controller on the CPU and doesn't have a northbridge persay... its all handled by the south bridge.
also
PCIE transactions are handled directly via the CPU via the HyperTransport Controller
