Controller Set-Up

I have the same adapter and it works okai, except for the analogue stick. Check the faq in the general n64emu forum, its pretty specific about this adapter. From my experience, the grey controller doesn't work, but the black one does. Even after calibrating hte black one you don't have the range of control as on an n64 because the adapter does not seem to pick up on two analogue directions well though.

Ok for some reason after trying a blue and atomic purple controller I cant seem to get the up and down working correctly. Left and right works perfectly but everything else is messed up, I tried callibrating too many times and it does nothing. Should I just buy the adaptoid?

I have one similar to the one you posted, it's got the same case but it looks like different internal chip locations too, and it's green, and it came from eBay.

I could never get all my controllers to work right. I have 5 - the pokemon blue/yellow, atomic purple, dk yellow, original blue, and original plain from my very first N64, on the first day of it's release. Only the dk yellow and original plain have ever worked fully for me. The adapter is very buggy on PSX side, also. I highly suggest you go after the Adaptoid, if you can find one. I never could...

i have the same one and it works perfectly. heres how it needs to be setup

Open pj64
-Click on the options tab and select setting
-Under the plugins tab change the input plugin to NRage direct input8 v2 1.8a, click ok. follow any on screen instructions.
-Click on the options tab and select configure controller plugin
-Under the Nrage configuration screen the controller 1 tab should already be selected
-Under the controls tab click on each button and select the corresponding button on your n64 pad.
-While in the analog stick section make sure to move the range to 100% and click the real n64 range box
-Click on the devices tab
-Under gamepad select 4axis 16 button gamepad and move the deadzone to 0%
-Click on the save profile button and name your profile and save
-Click on the save button and load your rom of choice

I've found that the Gravis Aftershock analog controller is a very good choice for N64 emulators. Only thing is you have to set the analog sensitivity threshold down to like 15% or close for perfect analog control in game but aside from that is perfect for all your N64 emu gamin needs. ;)

i assume you didnt run into any problems following my instructions and that you made sure to change the analog range and deadzone to what i said.

have you verified that your controller works properly on your n64? i know my controller was all gummed up so i took it apart and completely cleaned it and not its good as new. you may just need a cleaning.

lastly, what version of pj64 and what operating system are you running and what roms are you trying to play?

i guess its possible that the adapter is bad but to me its a little strange that it worked perfectly for me the first time out.
