control issues

Hey folks! Nice emu you've made here. Haven't played Soul Calibur this much in ages! (well, since I got it the first time around, anyways :p )

Erm, anyways, having issues with the controls. I've got a PS2 to USB adapter and I'm using a PS2 controller. With the default plugin it won't detect the digital pad. I tried for a while but I can't get it to see it at all.

"Fine," I hear you cry, "use the ElSemi plugin instead then!" Probably followed by "how'd you hear that?" :D Well, it causes my controller to start vibrating. Constantly. If I shut down the emulator it keeps vibrating. If I unplug it and replug it, it still goes. (of course, not while unplugged... ) I have to go to control panel and do a vibration test to stop the thing.

Any clues anybody? Anybody having similar issues? Have I missed a post that gave the precise solution? (I did a quick look) Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Oops forgot to mention it all worked well in 0.2a, it's only since 0.25 that things went pear shaped...

Do you have the rumble pack feature enabled for that controller in the plugin config?

Thought of that, and dutifully disabled it. The rumbling still occurs however. I even went nuts and tried it with the rumble-pack enabled. No go. (that would make sense... :) )
