I can't seem to get this particular Game to run (Perfect Dark works fine though).

Here is the setup:
Video
Nvidia GeeForceMX w TV out
Jabo's Direct3d7 1.4
DISPLAY
Direct 3D Hal
Window Resolut 1024x768
FullScreen Mode 1024x768x32
buffer display mode TRANSFER
EMULATION
RSP Code Simulation:
Geometry Transforms: AUTOMATIC
Texture Format: 16 and 32bpp
Enable Fog
Enable Display List Culling
Change Blending if Invalid for Video Card
Always use Texture Filtering for rendering.
ADVANCED
NOTHING CHECKED OR TURNED ON
Audio
Azimr' Audio v0.40 beta 2
Enable Audio Fix
Stop Sound When Paused
Sync GamePlay To Audio

Settings:
Options
Pause emulation when window is not active
Always overwrite defualt settings from INI
Automatically compress instant saves
CPU Core Style: Recompilor
Self Modem Method: Check Memory and Cache
N64 4mb expansion pak USING
Advanced Block Linking ON

OS Win2k S1
CPU P4-1.6GHZ
RAM 512MB DDR

What happens is I click start emulation the cpu hits 90% the idle hits 10% and that's it black screen no activity or anything.

I've looked through the forum and I'm not sure how I should run this particular ROM from the CBFD posts.

The original settings for Conker should work.

AFAIK, frame buffer emulation should be set to None for all but a few rare exceptions - the config file usually knows what's best.

Hmmm how does one know if it's using the INI settings or some other settings. Anyway to know of the settings are kackered?

And.. as exciting as all this is it still doesn't do anything. Oddly PJ64 won't halt emulation either, it goes out to lunch and must be closed the unconventional way. Resseting the CPU doesn't work either. I think it might be having a little crash I wonder if I am handling the Recompilor properly.

I assume the RDB is what is kept up to date in terms of compatibility etc with the game?

Using Jabo's Direct sound 1.4 doesn't do anything either, same problem. Might run a 1/4 second longer hard to tell ;)

It should be working "out of the box".

There's a checkbox in Settings/Options that controls the automatic loading of the ini (RDB) settings - this should be checked.

Checking if your RDB file is in working order wouldn't hurt. I just noticed that mine was scrapped for some reason - didn't notice before because the settings for the games I play were in the cache file.

Ok.. I replaced the RDB with the one from the PJ64 1.4 release then ran it, it still does not work, I am clueless as to what's going wrong with CBFD. It does the same thing run about 1/2 second in the CPU then locks up the program and I have to close the thing down via the wonderful X in the upper right hand corner.

Anyone have this problem? :)

Just re-read your first post... "Azimr' Audio v0.40 beta 2 "

The only audio plugin I've ever used with PJ are Jabo's. Maybe you should try that - I considered this part of "default" settings.

Looking through your originally posted settings, here are the changes I recommend. CBFD works fine here on the defaults, so one or more of these should help:

Framebuffer must be set to none in Jabo's D3D, it basically freezes the graphics rendering and needs a reset to render again.

All of the checkboxes in the emulation tab of Jabo's D3D plugin are unchecked (if Conker's head is white enable change blending as stated in the gameFAQ). RSP microcode simulation is set to F3DEXGB 2.08. Set transforms to internal instead of automatic as well.

Self modifying code is set to "Protect Memory" in the RDB here, so that's probably required for stable play. CF defaults to 2, but I play with it set to 3 with no problems so far. (It's for a slight speed boost, CBFD seems to be pushing my Athlon hard)

Register caching, TLB and larger compile buffer should all be checked as well in the game settings tab. RDRAM size in the RDB is 4, so disabling the expansion pak may help.

As for the audio plugin, I doubt it matters since it runs well on the RSP with sending of audio lists disabled (eg. uses PJ64's internal LLE for sound) In case it matters, I have the standard Jabo plugins for all 3 choices.

Whew, well that's all the changes I can see. Performance should be a little under full speed, but otherwise playable on your specifications.

CF defaults to ? I'm lost here what is CF? 2? 3? I couldn't find suck settings unless you are talking about editing the INI files.

Hmmm I'm not sure what you mean by TLB and larger compile bufer etc. I disabled the expansion pack (I also turned off the use INI settings).

Hmmm I'll have to go play find the FAQ and go through it in gross detail, I didn't find a FAQ the first time. (loosing hair over this simple little thing doh :) )

CF is counter factor, it's used for timing. Most games are set to 1 or 2. This and the three other options (TLB, register caching and larger compile buffer) can all be set while emulating from Options, Settings, Rom Settings tab. Make sure to reset the ROM after changing them with F1.
