Cleartype thing

Just wondering, how many of you guys use the cleartype display option, does it has any impact on performance?

Torek buddy, you could have done a poll for this one.
I use it, for me it drops down the performance a bit. You guys may not notice it due your l33t systems

It really does give you a much clearer image if you happen to be using a TFT screen, which is nice.

Same here, sharper and nicer text, but doesn't effect performance at all.

Hmmm, here I have problems when I move my windows, it becomes slow, but I can take it easy.
Maybe because I have 64MB of Video, and maximize the clearthing option to LE MAXIME.

Cleartype is something which you cannot do without, seriously.

seriously. cleartype rocks, even for CRT. no performance difference for me.

Yes, indded, Cleartype is the way to go, my PC looks very fancy now.

Easier way to do it. Plus your PC can't be very good if cleartype slows it down, my Athlon 2000 was still fast with cleartype, I suspect something else. Judging by that Pic i'd say the transparency effects are far more likely to cause the slowdowns. Upgrade dangit.

Never liked cleartype. It causes blueish text. I tend to use Standard Font Smooth.

Easily Fixable: Check this option that i've displayed in the attached picture and the "blueish" thing will go away.

That's not the problem. Every and all options under Visual Settings are checked. I leave out no eyes candy.

Well my text isn't blue, perhaps its your font or something.

Right-click on desktop, Properties, Desktop, Customize Desktop, Web, and uncheck Lock Desktop Items
