chrono cross and epsxe

ive been trying to run chrono cross on epsxe and have a minor problem.

The game has issues running on epsxe 1.6 (you cant advance past the opening screen). Ive gotten the game to start by using savestates from epsxe 1.52 to pass the trouble point, but the game will lock up again when you try to buy from shops. On epsxe 1.52, however, the game only runs about 30 fps (and 60 fps on epsxe 1.6)

My question: is there any way to speed up the game on epsxe 1.52 or play the game without lockups on epsxe 1.6?

OS: Windows XP PRO
CPU: Intel P4 2.4 GHz

Nevermind, i found a temp solution.

My new vid card doesnt like opengl (the plugin i was using before).
I switched to d3d, and i get 60 fps on epsxe 1.52

Still, does anyone know how to get the game running on 1.6?

You can also give PSXeven a try because I had the same problem and just switched emulators and it worked with little errors.

Mmmhh... didn't have this prob, can buy from shops. Did you enable some special hacks or something like that?
I had another problem, while the framebuffer effects in D3D and OGL it slows down to 16 FPS... and I can't disable this with the minimum framebuffer options, it's still there... :(
Can anybody help me?

The slowdown is normal with any plugin you use. I guess no plugin author has figured out how to fix that problem yet.
