Chankast problems

i have had chankast for a little while now and after i had to reinstall windows XP again and tried to play chankast i got this error msg "The procedure entry MakeCriticalSectionGlobal could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll. Has this happened to anybody and fixed it? Or do any of ya know how to fix this problem, i really wanna use chankast cuz chankast is the best DC emulator EVER.

Most of the time this is a registry problem. So make a backup of your registry, get yourself a registry cleaner (Norton Utilities has a good one) and let it do it's thing.

If this does not work, then I can only assume that you have installed XP service pack 2. Is this correct?

nah i dont have windows XP Service Pack 2, im still with the original XP


(edit) just tried the cleaning of the registry and it didnt work.

try the reg clean. if that don't work then maybe you need to put service pack 1 on. Most people (myself included) are running chankast with sp1.
don't put sp2 on. causes problems with chankast

hey its working now but when i try to play a game, after the DC start up it just crashes, i dunno y, and its not my video card or anything like that, anybody know y?

Update the drivers of your video card.

i did update the drivers and still same thing after the DC Start up. It says "Chankast_Alpha2.5 encountered a problem, please tell microsoft", its that error where they want u to send a message to microsoft about the problem. Anybody know how to fix it?

Does the emulator crash before or after showing the dreamcast logo?

What's your video card? It must be a problem with its drivers. Also, make sure that you're using Chankast v0.25.

the video card doesnt matter because i was playing third strike and ikaruga like 2 weeks ago or less, and after having to reinstall windows is that the problem started. yes i am use chankast v0.25

Since you know that your video card does not matter you should be able to solve the problem by yourself, right? If not, tell me your damn video card (I can understand more things than you think if you tell me what I'm asking).

my video card is really crap, its a S3 Prosavage DDR that came wit my motherboard (had a ati radeon 9800 pro but it burned)

i did, and still the same thing keeps happening, those r the same drivers i had. oh for some odd reason the only game that works is Ikaruga, street fighter 3rd strike doesnt work, even tho it used to work like 2 weeks ago.

There is no need for that. You can upload screenshots as attachments. Since you can play Ikaruga it's not a problem of the drivers. You should have told me that earlier.
You should check the compatibility list to see if the games you're trying to run are supported by the emulator. Note that the emulator cannot run some games ripped from the group "echelon" (the games crash the emulator).
If you get an io-error when you try to run Street fighter and some other games use daemon tools v3.29 as the image drive. Get it from here:
