Can't get Anisotropic filtering working properly

First of all I have a somewhat ancient nVIDIA GeForce 2 MX 200 (sigh).

I put on Anisotropic filteting, it does let me tick the box, and 2X becomes black (its greyed out when unchecked), however I can't move the slider up past 2X.

Is it my Graphics card, system resolution or anything?

Anybody have any clue?

Thanks

Don't know yet...

Dear friend:

I read don't know where (and don't know when) that with the new D3D 6 1.5 Jabo plugin there wasn't "Aniso" feature nor the "SORT INDEPENDENT ANTIALIASING" one support. This is not a problem of the plugin but of the Direct X 6.0 that doesn't support these features. So if you want to have Aniso and Antialiasing working you should use the old Jabo D3D 7 1.4 plugin, since the Direct X 7 supports both features (well, yes, you will have to choose between high compatibility -D3D 6 1.5 plugin- or enhanced features -D3D 7 1.4 plugin... :plain2: ).

However, it seems that there is a good solution to have both of them (high compatibility and enhanced features) if you want to use the D3D 6 1.5 plugin: it consists of turning these features on via an external application and not directly from the emu, i.e: the GeForce config tab at the Display properties (or by using any of the nvidia tweakers that exist).

Well, hope I was helpful!

Enjoy! :bunny:

He's right with the antialiasing and DX6... if you want this feature you need to use rivatuner or another utility. However, your question is with the anisotropic slider... it won't go higher than 2X because geforce2 doesn't support it... although 2X should definately be an improvement.
