Can I run PJ64 from a CDR/RW?

I'm not sure if my question sounds n00bish, but I've never worked with disc media.

Thanks in advance.

Well, I know that I can set the directories for various things, but I was talking about other things like configuration files for the various plugins.(I mean in the case of traveling with the CD to, say, a friends house) Would I have to burn the data on the CD after setting everything, or would the configuration files update on the CD? Would I need to create files on whatever computer that will be reading the CD?

Thanks again.

Yes that's my shoulder
I've done that before. unless you set the settings and then burn the cd, then you'll have to change it every time you eject the cd.

Actually you might be able to ubdate them on a cd-rw in a cd-rw drive

set what settings? all pj settings except rdb & cheats (so get them right before burning) are stored in the registry. running from read only media is supposed to work, but i haven't tested recent versions. the only problem i can see may be when plugins try to log, not sure what happens then... probably nothing. why not try it.

Pretends to make sense
Updating them with a CD-RW wouldn't be automatic, it would require software to do packet writing, or it would have to be done manually.

I want to do the same thing..make a CD for a friend with the emulator all configured and some games ,but don't know if it will work since he won't have the registry entries made by PJ 64 1.6 when it installs or you configure stuff..
What do you think ...should i try it or just give him the kit and some really detailed instructions on how to configure...

its fine

I've done it.

All you have to do is set the rom directory every time you open in on the cd.

Theres no problems when playing off the cd, just the load times for games is a little longer of course :p

I bring a cd with pj64 1.6 on it to my uncles because his place is so BORING in the summer sometimes.
