AOL isn't much more than piece of crap and its ip is, afaik, banned from certain places. I say dump it, as vamp said above. Uninstall the crap!

yea Gay OL sucks my balls X2 so like everyone says i would uninstall.....but just incase you cant live with out it i know somewhere there is an option to turn off the autoloading, my ex used to have aol and when ever she logged on the net it would pop up or even log on to windows, oh yea is it the new aol? if so you can fix it but if its a old version i would just upgrade...they give away the upgrade cd's everywhere cuz no one wants them or you can go to there site to download. :D

To be fair, AOL is pretty much the best dial-up service around, and hands down the best E-mail service that exists today. :p

However, AOL as a service sucks horribly for broadband.

But yes, I have no idea how to fix that offhand. You could check in MSIE's Internet Options to see if AOL is bound to any actions... i.e. if AOL is your default browser?

I disagree AOL is the best choice they are expensive do nasty things to your computers settings and also integrate the software into IE with lots of OS hooks.

Once you have them they are like a virus :)

As a dial-up service, I have no problem with AOL.

As a program, it sucks horribly. To add insult to injury, you are not allowed to connect to AOL via a standard PPP connection.

Why not just use juno? They are only $10 a month. AOL couldn't possibly provide a "better" dialup service than them either, because they lease the same modem pools. Honestly, it just makes no sense to me why anybody would want aol when it costs more, and viewing their popup ads is mandatory.

Juno sucks donkey balls, because by what I saw from another source that Juno majorly restricts amount of usage and
if Juno labels you as a frequent user, you are likely prohibited from
connecting before 5 AM. Also with Juno, like what I heard about
NetZero, your account may suddenly and ramdomly be terminated
with no notice.
