Bizzare Goldeneye And Perfect Dark Multiplayer

My friend and I were playing multiplayer over the web and we frequently found that what was on ones screen was different from what was on the others. For example, in COOP mode on PD, there were no enemies on the rooftop, whereas, according to our phone conversation they were killing us. The same sort of thing occured in Goldeneye. Is this a common phenomena? Its very strange.

Called a desync. Happens in emulators (and also PC games too) from time to time. There isn't much you can do, but making sure your ping time is at it's lowest before playing, or upgrading your/opponents connection to a faster one. Also, the netplay in 1964 will hopefully improve with the final release too.

I got desyncs 4-Player Super Bomberman 2 on Snes9x over my old school network - not fun!

we had about a ping of 60-80. Hes on DSL, I am on Cable. Its very strange. Sometimes we both agree we are right next to each other, but while that is occuring, different things are going on locally with each others experience.

Make sure you have the SAME version of the emulator and similar settings. A similar gfx card helps too. I played Streets of Rage 2 (Bare Knuckle 2) online before when I found that my partner wasn't moving much and was constantly getting killed. I told him what I saw and he said that "I" was the one getting killed. So we observed everything and we realised that MY version of GENS was old. He gave me a link to the newest version and we hardly got outta sync! My ping is around 260-400 which is PREEEETTY SAD! I need to get cable modem, lol. His ping was around 100-200. It was still fun though.

Well we are on a lan right now. Is there anyway to configure a private lan server? Im feeling rather noobish about configuring the server. Can anyone give me some step by step instruction on hosting a lan server. I think that would resolve the sync issue. Thanks.
