Best P64 Resolution?

I got P64 and when I play games it plays good and looks alright. But what is the best Project 64 Resolution? I have it at 320 x 240 16 bit but is 320 x 240 32 bit better? What is the difference and which is the best? To check which resolution you have go to Options then configure graphics plug in and its under full screen resolution. Thanks.

The best res is usually what you think looks best. Some like 1024x768 32bit, some won't use less than 1600x1200 whilst others prefer to use the native N64 resolution.

Bottom line is experiment, it won't hurt your computer - though it obviously may impact performance if your graphics card isn't up to scratch.

Ideally you'd want an exact multiple of the game's original resolution and 32-bit colour so no colour data is lost.

1280x960 is the ideal resolution for N64 games. Also note that it can look even better when using antialiasing and aniostropic filtering.

What makes 1280x960 so special?

What happens to the poor games that run in 512x384 natively (IIRC Majora's Mask does this)? Their 2D elements need ugly scaling :flowers:

I have 2 very important suggestions for the next release of Jabo's video plugins.Some people like to play windowed and the resolutions offered are just too small.I use 1024x768 on my PC and the 800x600 window is realy small, so i was thinking maybe a resolution in between those 2 would be better..and in between is 912x684 .Also for 1280x1024 users the best windowed resolution would be 1152x896
