Banjo Kazooie Slowdown problem

I just wanted to ask everybody if they have this problem with pj64 1.5 and the banjo kazooie game.

My computer cant be slow, because i have a amd xp 2.4 and a geforce3, plus 512 ddr ram.

As you can see in the picture here, everytime that banjo is near a platform..the fps get reduced by half as normal. this big slowdown only happens everytime banjo gets near a platform and the slowdown is forever if you dont go far from the platform.

every platform... puzzle piece, jump platform, fly platform etc, produces a slowdown in the game.

i have attached this picture, and i would like to tell you that i dont know how to fix this, i have tried another emulator called 1964 and this slowdown does not happen, does anyone have a fix for this? thanks.

Hi, the slowdown is because the game is using self rendered textures at these points (1964 doesn't slow down for you because you don't have the RDB to tell the video plugin to enable the self rendered textures option!). The solution for you, if this slowdown bothers you, is to either disable self rendered textures completely (video plugin, rom settings tab) or speed them up with the last two options on the Advanced tab. Note that any of these things may produce artifacts... i can't remember exactly how this game uses self rendered textures (the subscreen background is an obvious place). Armed with this knowledge you must choose the speed-quality compromise that suits you best :)
