Ra! im having so many problems with this emulator! but i know it'll be good in the end! Ok, so originally i had the "ToC error at :i drive" or whatever, so i went ot the chanka faq, and installed the aspi stuff, and now whenever i try to boot up a game, it just crashes...

so now imr eally confused, and the faq isnt very intuitive, because its telling me to uninstall my old ide drivers, and i really dont know what that means, and im very confused >_> please help!

If you are runnig XP there really not much point in using ASPI, since you can just use the xxx CD-ROM plugin instead. If a TOC error happens, that's usually a sign that the CD image is corrupt.

What are your computer specs anyway?

ooh, i thought the xxx meant it didnt work or something. ill try it out.

but, as for my specs, i have 512 ram, 1.8-2.0 gig processor, i think...240 gig harddrive, 9800 pro radeon, so on, so on. But, maybe before i do anything more, does skies of arcadia work on chankast? or should i try another game? can i get a recommendation on a game that is KNOWN to work?

ok, so it ended up working, but with one of the skies of arcadia discs (the first one) it just goes to the menu, and tries to play it like a CD. then i used some guys patch to make SOA work, found it on these forums, and then it gets to that echelon thing where i turn on codes, then i try to boot it and it just hangs on the SEGA screen. (it may be the other way around, that without the SOA patch it gets there and hangs, and with it plays like a cd...not sure)

any ideas? maybe SOA just doesnt work?

Like I asked earlier, computer specs?

I thought that the SOA patch removes all traces of the Echelon trainer? I can't say for sure, since the patcher has never worked for me.
