I know this topic has been discussed several times. I also understand that a keyboard can never have the same capabilities as a joystick, and I don't expect it to.
Anyway, as someone is always complaining about, using the standard Jabo's DirectInput7 1.6 controller plugin, games like Mario, Zelda, Banjo-Kazooie, etc., all have times during gameplay that require adjusting the sensitivity of the analog stick. For most play, leaving it at 100% works fine, but there are times when precise walking or aiming are needed and the response range needs to be turned down to 30-50% in order to allow it.
To do this, you need to exit fullscreen mode to get to the "options" menu and "configure controller plugin", change the range value, then get back to playing the game. Then you need to repeat this process again to get back to normal speed/response once you're finished doing whatever actions needed precision control.
What I am wondering is if there is a way to quickly switch between two different .jsf files while playing, without causing so much distraction to the game. Perhaps someone can think of a way to just switch between two different range settings instead?
If there was a hotkey that could bring up the configure controller menu on the fly, it would be so much less intrusive on the gameplay. I have looked through the manual for such a key command and can't find one. Maybe a different plugin would be able to do this, but I prefer using Jabo's as it always works so well all the time.
Any help or suggestions regarding this would be appreciated.
Many thanks.
