All Star Baseball 2001 freezing

I really want to play this game but every time i start it up and try to play a game it freezes on me after the intro to the game, just as the actual gameplay is about to start. I'm using the latest Rice plugin for video and i've tried a few different sound plugins but no change. The video I can't really try anything else as my Radeon 9700 really seems to hate most plugins and pj64. Does this happen to everyone or just me? If not any ideas how to fix?

its a well known problem. the best way i have found to play it is with the no sound plugin. you might save do quick saves from time to time to keep from losing your whole game. it seems to be a sound problem that makes the freezing happen.

well after checking it again i couldnt get anywhere at all without freezing so ....who knows.

all i know is that i tried rices 5.5.1 in project 64 and it didnt crash for me once. i was surprised because the previous versions always crashed. o yeah and it only seemed to work on pj64 for me it crashed with 1964. :bounce:
