7Zip Help

7zip seems a great packer so far, but the config is a little bit confusing!?!
What's the best config for making BIG files as small as possible? I heard some guys who had downloaded 7zip files which are compressed 4 Gigs and uncompressed 16!?
Is taht possible? I never could download such a file to test, cause I'm on 56k, but who care? But I really care to compress my BIg files so much, too!
I'm working atm with
archiv: 7zip,
compression: Ultra LZMA
database 128MB
(192MB will not work, "you haven't enough ram..." I have 1 Gig!)
Word 32 and compact...
Any way to increase the compression?
BTW: how is it possible to change to path for a sfx file... in WinRar it was very easy but in 7zip I don't see a config for it!?
Help would be great, I'm a 7zip N00b!

From what I could tell, ultra lzma would provide the best compression. Not sure about what the other settings are, though.

The settings I use are:

Compression Level Maximum

Compression Method LZMA

Dictionary size 128

Word Size 255

But you may have to lower yours some as this eats up 1224 mb of ram.

It compressed one set of files I had from 35 gb to a little under 5

If the files are similiar to each other, you can get amazing compression. Like downloading every known dump of a specific game with a filesize that isn't much bigger than just one of the versions.

Yeah okay, my settings seems to be fine, but how to include a path into a sfx archive?!? Noone has an answer?!?
