What's new

32bit version very (very) slow?

Hi guys,

I'm trying to run Wind Waker on Dolphin, and it's very very slow - 3-4 FPS during the titles in the beginning...

Is this normal? My PC is pretty decent, I thought I would see slightly better performance:

WinXP (32 bit)
P4 3.4 GHz
3 GM RAM
Radeon X300 video

I looked through the config options, messed around with the shaders, didn't really see anything else that I could try to improve performance. Any ideas?

Thanks a bunch, guys!

Thanks... I just saw multiple folks saying that Zelda runs at 28-35 fps on their machines, so I was trying to figure out if I am missing something crucial (other than a 64 bit processor).

Well that blows. :) I saw that there is a new 32 bit release planned - is there any sort of timeframe for it?

I think intel and AMD should be happy cause emulators like dolphin exist..

now everyone is looking for the best CPU so it can run quite well...

Penryn is coming next year with much faster speed...i just want to know if SSE4
will be useful to dolphin ...

thanks,

The market that we emulator users present is just a tiny, tiny slice of the pie. :) In other words, Intel and AMD could care less about us, hehe.

Vista would not give you much, if any advantages. Windows XP 64-bit would probably still perform better than Vista 64-bit.

Buy yourself a Wii + a copy of Crystal Chronicles and you'll be a lot happier, and have leftover cash to spend on other things.
