Project 64 accesses internet on startup?

I have never encountered any thing such as this. Neither when I start pj nor dxdiag or any other programs.
This is quite odd...whom does it happen to?

It's only a guess, but maybe it's to somehow validate the WHQL signature in the drivers, I don't see actually why they wouldn't want to do that. I can assure you we have no spyware intentions or anything like that, it's pure trust me.

I believe you are right. The internet connecting is probably contacting crl.microsoft.com to check for a digital signature, but can be annoying sometimes.
