I am getting the error direct3d failed to initialize. Error code: 8876086C D3DERR_INVALIDCALL, even after reinstalling it. Anybody know how to fix this?

Is there any possible way to use two emulators on two different computers to take part in one game? I would assume not but it does seem possible to do with some third party application. Also, just making sure.. there is no way to map the mouse as any button right?
