Paper Mario's flickering is getting very annoying. In the GameFAQ it says to try a 3rd party video plug-in. What's the best one to use?

I downloaded and installed it fine. First of all, when I opened it, it said I needed some .dll file. I found that, then it looks like it's running fine. It comes up with the options, rename, move, scan, etc. When I type something in and press enter, the thing exits. Why is this happening...

It says [video] missing dissolve effect next to all my roms and for Perfect Dark it says [video] missing camera lens effect. And in all my games, the text is white instead of black (or the background is light grey instead of black) and in Perfect Dark when I use my Cam Spy I can't see anything...
