how do u make images from original gd-roms? and is there any way u can just use an original dreamcast disk with chankast? Thanks!

I have DOA 2 LE image with a 795 411KB MDF file and a 2KB MDS file. I've read the threads where the image was a .cdi format with the 1st_read.bin and ip.bin, but this image i have has none of these, and i can't find a program that will convert this format. I cant get past the echelon intro...
