Words not showing up

i downloaded 1964 and i got some plugins, i found the one with pj64 works best for graphics on my computer, the others dont work, but, when i play mario 64, the words are not there, just a bunch of scrathes that loos somehting like this:

/\\_/ /\\|/\

that is what it looks like, and i don't know why any help would be appreciated

This is a known problem with Jabo's video plugin and the europian version of Mario 64. Either use the US version of Mario 64 or post the name of your video card in order to let us help you.

well, thanks, i know my video card isn't good, it is an S3 SavagePro DDR, i just updated the driver, now it works. I am also using a euro version of mario and the only graphics pugin that works for me is jabo's from project 64

ohhhhh.......bad card.....buy a newer card and really cheaper like the GeForce FX 5200,or wait to the 6600 gt AGP version,it will be around 200 $

naa, i will wait for 2 years and then buy a new comp when i graduate comunity college and go to a university ;-) then i will buy a good card. can you get good cards in laptops?
