Why won't 'Line Mode' work on Goldeneye?

I am trying to use the 'Line Mode' gameshark cheat on Goldeneye, but it doesn't work. When I activate the cheat and start the game, the cheat shows up in Goldeneye's built in cheat menu like it's supposed to, but when I turn it on and then start a level, there's no line mode. Just the level in solid colors rather than normal graphics.

Is there a solution? Is it a plugin issue or something else?

I searched this forum for posts on this topic, and I found one asking essentially the same question, but nobody had responded to it.

Any help is appreciated.
