some of the roms have the word "kiosk" in it. what does that mean? should i download the normal version, or the "kiosk"-version. i get confused with all those rom-versions. in gerneral, is it better, to use NTSC or PAL-roms?? or aren`t there any differences. it`s so confusing to see 5 or even more different versions (ver. 1.1, (u), (j), (e), kiosk ....) and don`t know, which one will be best for emulation...so, can someone please help me?

rule of thumb

while it's not always true, if you get an image that's looks like this:

"The Game of Life (U) [!] .v64"

you're generally ok. Note the [!] particularly. If this is accurately noted, this means a complete and verified rom dump. A complete description of the codes can be found with GoodN64. This utility will rename and scan all your roms to verify which rom dump you actually have, it's highly recommended. The filename extension varies depending on the rom image.

if im not exactly wrong here its better to use (u)-roms instead of (e)-roms since emus usually are written for (u)-roms.
