3 part question
1. some audio plugins have a buffer setting, what is it? whats better smaller or bigger?
2.does the rsp settings make most games worse or better?
3. what would be the best sound plugin for my (disgustingly slow) pentium 600? (speed wise)

1. Buffering either can help you or not, it smooths out the audio for slower machines. Thats the only reason its there..

2. RSP Can be used for HLE Audio, JPEGs Images, but the down part is that it slows down just alittle.

3. Try Azimers 0.30 (old driver)

?????????????????????????
I think the slower machine you have, the more buffering you should use. It has some affect at the sound, though, but it works!

Cpu, you meant LLE didn't you? :satisfied

Yeah, increasing the buffer will reduce audio break-up (crackling), but the drawback is increased audio lag.
