Saving in Majora's Mask

Hi. I have been playing OoT and have had no problem saving. I decided to start playing Majora's Mask. When I pull up the menu to save as I did in OoT, it just says "Return" for both the A and B buttons. I tried to save with the program itself but that didn't work. I even tried to see if there were other buttons that would save it to no avail. Any suggestions? I don't want to get so far again and not have my progress saved.

well in majoras mask the gameplay is... interesting. you play different songs on the ocarina in order to do things like go back in tame and to save

Saving is done with the song of time, as it takes you back to the dawn of the first day. For saves mid-way through the time from the dawn of the first day to the end of the world, you can use an owl statue, but you can only load an owl save once (to prevent you using them to do bits over until you get them right. The game saving mechanism provides very good incentive to avoid dying ^_^ )
