When i open up chankast i get a red spirla (form what i read this means NTSC)
but the image i have mounted , (thank you to previous advisors that told me how to get the image) is called Sonic.Adventure.Selfboot_FR

the FR refers to the country ? (am i right in thinking france?) in which case i need the PAL bios?

i just wanna know if im right in thinking this not asking for the bios,

The region of the BIOS shouldn't matter. I've been able to boot both PAL and NTSC games just fine.

yer but it was a way tht sega used to stop europeans buying their games cheap in america for use in places like the UK where VAT is over twice as much

I meant on the emulator. Yes, the console itself had Euro, Japan or USA BIOS depending on the region the console was intended for.
Although this didn't mean much if one played backups on their Dreamcast console.
