Problems with Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon

I've tried playing Mystical Ninja, but when I open the ROM it doesn't start up it's just a black screen. Other games work just fine. I use Project 64 as my emulator.

Are you sure that your ROM is good? What graphics plugin do you use?

I've tried RGB Emulation and Direct3D HAL none of which seem to work.

didn't this game require an updated rdb to work.?
