Pokemon Stadium Issue

When I play Pokemon stadium and start choosing pokemon to battle the game freezes turns black and i cant see what's really supposed to be there even though the controls still work. How do I fix this? I am also new to this so because try to simplify the answer

What video card do you have? Are you using the default plugins? Are you sure your ROM is good?

im not sure about the video card, but i am using default plugins and i was told the ROM was working fine. I might try another just in case
