Paper Mario Problem

I've done some searching around but haven't seen this problem posted, or maybe I missed it. :}

I'm using 1964 0.8.5

Ok, so here's the problem. I just started the game, and everything's been fine until I came to Toad Town. It goes pretty darn slow in town. Not unplayable, but not enjoyable either. Let me give a little more detail on my settings

I was wondering if anyone could help me out.

swap to the new deadalus 5.1.0d and you should have the flicker problem go away, and it should be faster as well.

I have no flicker problems, but sure I'll try that plugin

edit: ok did some fiddling. By disabling all texture enhancement it's up and running. Thank you so much :}
