No Possible Memory Base??

I downloaded a newer version of Dolphin (Rev 4579M)
And 8 out of 10 times I try out a game, I get a warning message saying:

"No Possible Memory Base Pointer Found!"
(Using DX9 Plugin)

After that, the emulator either hangs with a black screen, or it crashes.

Any ideas what this is and how to fix it?

The previous version I was using Rev 4461, worked fine.

Also... I'm considering making a switch from WinXP to Win7.
On which OS does this emulator run better?
Any performance difference between X86 and X64 versions?

Thanks.

I’ve got the same problem too, but I’ve found a way to get around it:

1. Start Dolphin
2. Open the WiiMote configuration window
3. Close the configuration window (you don’t have to change anything)
4. Click on a game-name to launch the game

I know it sounds strange, but for me it’s working.
For some reason you have to initialize the emulator by opening the WiiMote configuration and closing it again before you can play any games.

Good luck

For me, I had to simply delete the dolphin.ini file (which, yes, DOES reset all your configurations), then restart the program so it would create a fresh one.

Others said that backing up the .raw file for the gcube memory card then creating a new one can also fix it. This error doesn't affect Wii games, fortunately.

The only times I hit this error are when I try using Action Replay on Gcube games, or after reloading the program from a nasty crash or something. Experiment as much as possible to see what causes this error to occur and you should be able to minimize the annoyance of it.

Thanks for the replies.
Turns out this was a problem with some of the past REVs.

Seems to be fixed now, since the newer ones have been working correctly.
