My computer locks up when I use my keyboard with Project 64, please help!

The program loads up fine but as soon as the rom is loaded and I start hitting the keys on the keyboard my computer freezes up and starts making a beeping sound.

If anyone could help me it would be greatly appreciated.

how many keys??? on a keyboard you can't hit more than 3 at a time

This is a common keyboard limitation. Either switch your keyboard binding to something that doesn't make the keyboard lock up or buy yourself a gamepad.

The latter option is the most optimal and the most recommended solution as N64 games were meant to be played with a gamepad with an analog stick.
