load mp3 instead of emulate sound?

hi i got a question and i dont know if someone has already ask or not but
is it possible of make a sound plugin witch load and read mp3 track instead of emulate n64 sound a litle like rice plugin for textures?
because i have found some remade track of zelda oot witch are instead of n64 sound there are orchestred with real instrument
