issue with ikaruga

I've messed around with the video options and can't seem to get it running correctly. In the second level (if this makes sense to anyone) theres an area with some spinning patters of blue black curved dot lines. Its right before the boss. These don't show up- all I see is the very first dot where the lines (well, they aren't really lines, they're like, dotted lines.) should start. Suggestions?

I'm also having some other issues in general with chankast- if someone would give me a message on AOLim at kahniffinator, that would be a great help too.

EDIT: Ok I see what you mean now, yeah there's a big glitch on the 2nd mission. You can't see the bullets that shoot out of those walls.. which makes it a bit hard to beat..
