Doomsday or Vavoom?

I'm a big fan of nearly all classic games and consoles, so I also really like to play my D00m versions on my rig.
But the main question for that is: which Doom port should I prefer? Doomsday or Vavoom?
I'm already a big fan Doomsday, its snowberry launcher and its structure, but there are a lot people moaning about Doomsday, so I wanted to ask you all, whether anyone already used the Vavoom engine?
