Which one is better:
an ATI Radeon 8500LE or a GeForce4 MX440? I can get these two cards at the same price but I don't know which one is better.

Radeon 8500LE is better
The only forum I have more than 1,000 posts on! weeeeeeee bleep.
OK. I'll be getting that then. Haven't been doing my research on ATI cards that much so that's why I asked.

Wrong, the Radeon 8500LE is betta that a GeForce3, but never betta than a GeForce4. The one betta than a GeForce4 is the Radeon 9700 or whatever
None else to say
:sleepy: Do some research. Get the 8500LE, NOT the 440 MX.Originally posted by David_Hayter

speak english clearly and actually address the question like your not in 5th grade!! sorry to be blunt, but he needs help between 2 video cards, not 4...
2bzy4ne1:
ATI over nvidia for those cards, 8500LE beats the 440mx if my memory serves me correct, www.anandtech.com should provide enough information to help you some where on the website![]()

Um, Use Newsgroups
It's not just about beating it in benchmarks, but also about feature support.
GF 4 440 MX = DX7 card
Radeon 8500LE = DX 8.1 card
try and get a ti4200 64megs for cheap, cos ive seen MX cards and Radeon 8500LE going for more than some gf4 ti4200. i could be wrong tho,
WinXP Professional 5.1 (Build #2600) CPU: AMD K7 Athlon XP, 1.67 GHz Video: Samsung SAMTRON 95P Plus(T)/95P on nVidia GeForce4 Ti 4200 (1280x1024x32bpp 60Hz) Sound: SB Audigy Audio [E800] Memory: Used: 156/512MB Uptime: 1h 46m 2s 81ms HD: Free: [C:] 27.93/38.16 GB Connection: 1-World Online via U.S. Robotics 56K FAX EXT @ 45200 bps (Rec: 8.14MB Sent: 0.81MB)
Geforce is cheaper. It's directX8 too, but sometimes a bit slow. Radeon is the best for n64 emulation.
believe me, if I could I would get a geforce4 ti4200 but I can't spend over $100 for the vid card. My budget won't allow it because if I get the cheapest ti4200, it will go over my budget. The cheapest ones I can find are at least over $110. I can get either the geforce4 mx440 or the radeon 8500LE for $72 which is a very good bargain compared to what these cards cost normally in stores.Originally posted by sk8bloke22
