is there anyway of turning it off by default or do people prefer it? since I turned that option off when I reregistered.

I think most people turn it off, so it should be off by default if possible. I have it turned of

yeah i turned it off too, twas very annoying, i still get emails about the "gamecube l33tness" topic and i havent posted in their for aaaaages???
