    I'm so excited

There is a question here, only at the end of the post

For the longest time I've been stuck with a P3 450 and had been completely unable to enjoy PJ64 the way it was meant to be enjoyed: with smooth graphics and near-flawless sound...and finally...at long last...my upgrade is here!

    P4 2.53
    Intel 845 chipset
    1024 mb DDR 2100 ram
    80GB 8mb buffer HD

I'm so excited! I don't mean to brag or to seem arrogant or anything, but for anyone who's been in my shoes before, its such a great feeling! Sorry to bother anyone, but I just HAD to tell someone! Now all I have to do is wait for my memory from Crucial...sigh...joy...

I did have a question too...for those who have a similar computer...do most games run at full speed? Would Conkers or MOM run choppy at all or would the sound skip a lot still? Please let me know...I don't want my expectations TOO high...

You got such a POWERFULL system with a CRAP gx card! I mean with this system even with a GF2 MX youll get much better graphics from this onboard one! Since you spent all these money for this pc,i suggest you make it balanced :/

Well what is the gfx card? I think the Intel 845 chipset is just some AGP thing... something that powers the gfx card. All the games that are compatible (80 to 90%) should work fine on that computer assuming the gfx card is halfway decent.

He didn't mention his GFX card in that list. More info on that can be found here: Intel i845 Chipset

Your computer is surely fascinating, but i845 chipset is on-board graphic, and it sucks. Personally I don't like on-board video, although you can share as much system RAM (wow, 1GB DDR) as you can, the benchmark of i845 is only about 30% of a GeForce 4. No offence but since you can get yourself such a high performance system, why not throw out about US$120 to get a decent GeForce 4?

shouldnt of gone the intel approach realy, AMDs are a lot cheaper and more powerful than intels, a 1 Ghz Amd is the eqivelent to a Intel 1.2Ghz.

U could of got the same system having a Amd, you'd have a lot more money to spend on graphics cards

Well guys, there's some of you dissing Intel for some reason, I don't understand why...here's how cheap the parts were:

    BOXED P4 2.53 ghz 533 bus = 250 bucks
    BOXED P4 845egb2l motherboard = 130 bucks
    2 BOXED 512 MB ECC DDR266 ram = 240 bucks...

That is pretty damn cheap. When Intel released the 2.8 ghz, they cut the price of the 2.53 IMMENSELY...making it much more worth it than the hard to find 2600+...not to mention the fact that Intel is more reliable than AMD and at least I didn't have to deal with that godforsakenly horrible VIA chipset...
